Information

Bandos, a beautiful coral island located in North Male Atoll, about 7 kilometres from Male’ International Airport and the capital Male’, is covered with lush tropical vegetation, numerous palm trees, surrounded by a wide sandy beach and the crystal clear waters of an azure lagoon. The island owns one of the best house reefs, just 40 – 60 metres away from the beach. The natural splendor is complemented by the modern amenities of the resort, which ensure that your stay is both comfortable and memorable.

A major reconstruction project successfully completed in 2005 has brought a trendy new look to Bandos. Front desk, lobby areas, shops, all the restaurants, bars, and a new swimming pool have been rebuilt with the state of the art architectural designs blending perfectly with the tropical surrounding and maintaining the local feel. Rooms on the northern side of the island have been replaced by elegantly designed individual loft type Beach Villas with the most modern facilities and amenities.

Bandos has perfected its role of the welcoming host and can cater to every mood. The natural splendor is complemented by the modern amenities of the resort, which ensure that your stay is both comfortable and memorable.

Accommodation

Standard rooms

Conveniently located on the southern side of the island are all beach-fronted and in blocks of four rooms adjacent to each other.

Deluxe rooms

48 Junior Suites are all beach-fronted and in blocks of two rooms each with inter-connecting doors and are more spacious with sitting/living area. Junior Suites are also ideal for families with small children as well as for the wheelchair-bound guests.

Garden villas

Located in the middle of the island, facing the landscaped gardens and the newly built swimming pool. These are full wooden chalets with private patio and are elegantly furnished.

Jacuzzi Beach Villas

The 48 Jacuzzi Beach Villas have been newly built in 2005 on the northern side of the island, with most modern facilities and amenities, yet blending in well with the tropical surroundings. Designed in loft type individual units with living room, bathroom, and Jacuzzi on the ground floor and the bed room is located on upstairs with a private balcony overlooking the azure lagoon.

Water Villas

The 2 exclusive Water Villas built in 2005, on stilts over the azure lagoon, are the first of its kind to be built on Bandos. These two luxurious and spacious Villas are designed with utmost care in ensuring comfort and privacy for its residents. A spacious living room gives you the breathtaking ocean view, leading to the large private sundeck with sun loungers.

Dining

The Harbour

Dine with style in the newly built and elegantly designed fine dining restaurant – The Harbour. Here you will have options of dining either in air-conditioned comfort or while enjoying the cool breeze and the breathtaking scenery on the open air over water deck. The Harbour specialises in presenting you with the best of Maldivian fish, a large variety of seafood, home-made pasta and a selection of tender steaks char grilled to your taste. The silver light of the moon, the most delicious food and our warm and friendly staff make it one of the most memorable moments of your holiday.

Gallery Restaurant

The main restaurant of Bandos Island Resort is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and specialises in catering for guests whose holiday package includes meals – yet is open to all the guests. Package holidaymakers, however, are not restricted to one restaurant, but are welcome to eat either at the Coffee shop or the Harbour Grill with a discount.

Sea Breeze cafe’

True to its name, Sea Breeze Cafe’ has been newly built right at the edge of the water with an open air over water deck and an amazing view of the sea. It is open 24 hours and offers from snacks to A La Carte Menu, ranging from Spaghetti Bolognaise, a variety of pizza to authentic Indian Curry.

Sand Bar

Right at the water’s edge is our Sand Bar, reconstructed with modern equipments and the state of designs blending well with its name and surround. It is the main bar and is open from 0730hrs until the last satisfied customer leaves. Enjoy the exotic atmosphere barefoot on the sand floor sipping a tropical drink from our wide selection. Our live band invites you to listen or dance the night away, try Karaoke or dance to the hot rhythms played by our DJ.

Paradise Bar

When you visit the Paradise Club for a therapeutic massage, tennis, a vigorous workout or a swim in the pool, you can take advantage of the thirst quenching drinks and the light fare menu the Paradise Bar offers.

Sundowners Bar

Located on the east side of the island, close to our Dive School, is the Sundowners Bar, open daily between 0730hrs to 1930hrs. A favourite among divers for a quick snack and a cool drink after a dive. Watch the sunset setting across the horizon while sipping your favourite cocktail with someone special on the large over water deck at the Sundowners Bar.
